Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data Cove collects, why we collect it, and how it is used. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service.

1. What Data We Collect

Cove collects the following data to provide its features:

2. How We Use Your Data

Data collected by Cove is used exclusively to provide and improve the service:

To power bot features — XP, economy, moderation, reaction roles, etc.
To display information on the Cove dashboard at covebot.app
To process subscription payments via Stripe
To enforce bans and moderation actions as configured by server admins
To improve reliability and debug issues

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on a private server. We take reasonable technical precautions to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Session tokens are stored as encrypted cookies. Bot tokens for the Enterprise custom bot feature are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.

4. Third-Party Services

Cove uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

Discord — The platform Cove operates on. Subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
Stripe — Payment processing for Pro and Enterprise subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as you use Cove or as required to provide the service:

Server data — deleted automatically when Cove is removed from a server
User data — retained until you request deletion or the associated server removes Cove
Dashboard accounts — retained until deletion is requested

To request deletion of your data, contact us on Discord. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Cove is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Discord itself requires users to be at least 13 years old. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately for deletion.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

The right to access the data we hold about you
The right to request correction of inaccurate data
The right to request deletion of your data
The right to object to or restrict processing of your data

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Cove after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
